About us
Interpharma is the association of research-based pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland and was founded in 1933 as an association based in Basel. The sector represented by Interpharma is the country’s largest export sector: pharmaceutical products worth around 115 billion Swiss francs are sold abroad every year.
Interpharma informs the public about the interests of the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Switzerland, as well as about the Swiss pharmaceutical market, the healthcare sector and biomedical research. Member companies invest around 9.2 billion Swiss francs annually in research and development in this country.
